I'm Vanity Scare, a pop, graphic and street inspired artist from Hull, East Yorkshire. I lived in London for almost 6 years and am now currently based in Leeds. I have a detailed illustrative style, focusing on bold lines and strong colours. I also design and sell a range of my own illustrated merchandise. I have lots a different inspirations but I tend to focus on themes of space, future, dystopia, fame, excess, vanity, celebrity & social media. A satirical look at the horror and glamour of fame and celebrity, how the dream can turn toxic very quickly especially since the dawn of the internet and social media. I have a particular interest in the career of Natalia Kills who was publicly shamed on twitter for humiliating a contestant on the X Factor and spawned the hashtag #nataliakillshercareer. My work is also a satirical glorification of bad taste, turning trash into art.
